Ground Swell, by Edward Hopper, at I Madonnari 2012, Santa Barbara, California

The Intervals Web design and development team likes to do more than just tweak pixels and grind out code. We love us our extra curriculars, especially when we can venture out into our community sharing our love of tech and the arts. Our company, Pelago, has had the privilege of participating in the annual I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival in Santa Barbara, California, for over thirteen years.

This year’s painting was a replica of Edward Hopper’s Ground Swell. The idyllic marina scene pays homage to Hopper’s immense talent and the history of our seaside community. The painting fits in well at the Old Mission Santa Barbara, where sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean dominate the horizon.

To see more images of the chalk paintings, sift through the Santa Barbara I Madonnari Facebook photo album.
