New Feature: Scheduling Reports for Automated Delivery

John Reeve | May 27th, 2020 | , ,

We’ve always promoted our reports as one of the core features of our time tracking and workflow management software, Intervals. The flexibility and comprehensiveness of these real-time reports lets you analyze your data quickly from an infinite number of perspectives. Intervals tracks your time and task updates as you work, while the reports give all that data some context and meaning. So, it’s exciting to share that we’ve added a new feature to our reports — scheduling and automated delivery.

The main benefit of using this feature is that it will free up the time typically spent on reports. You no longer have to remember to log in and run reports repeatedly. Now you can create the report once, set the schedule, and let Intervals handle automatically delivering it.

How does it work?

The first step in using this feature is to go to the Reports tab in your account and generate a report. Then click the schedule button in the upper right corner of the report. Give the report a name, fill out the schedule and the recipients section, then save it.

This feature works with pre-existing saved reports, too. If you already have saved reports you would like to schedule, click the edit icon to enable them for automated delivery.

Anyone you include in the recipients list will be sent a recurring email containing a link to download a PDF of the report. You have the option to send out reports daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. And you can select the time of day to send them.

Managing your saved and scheduled reports

We’ve also added a new section under the Reports tab labeled “My Reports.” This page lists all of your saved and scheduled reports and can be filtered so you can quickly find the report you want to view or update. Use this page to edit, schedule, and delete reports.
